Screening and prioritization of Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic compounds (PBTs) for regulatory purposes (REACH).

New tools, based on molecular structure and multivariate explorative methods, have been developed for the ranking, identification and prioritization of PBTs. A new PBT index has been proposed. The PBT Index has been applied and compared with the US-EPA PBT profiler for screening  in consensus various classes of chemicals (POPs, Flame Retardants, Personal Care Products and Pharmaceuticals) to prioritize the most potentially PBTs.
